Shires Performance Tuning specialises in diesel and petrol engine remapping, otherwise known as chip tuning, for a wide range of vehicle makes and models.
Since 2002 we have been developing upgrades especially for cars, vans and motorhomes. Hundreds of customers are already benefitting from the improved pulling power, smoothness of drive and most importantly, improved fuel economy. Of particular interest to caravan owners and motorhomers is the ability for converted vehicles to pull up long inclines without shifting down gears.
With the recent hike in fuel prices, fuel economy is one of the most important factors in engine tuning. We at Shires have developed a range of ECO maps which are available for most diesel models, some of which improve fuel economy by up to 15%.
The procedure to remap your vehicle’s ECU (Engine Control Unit) is simple and painless, generally taking less than an hour to perform. By connecting to the OBD plug (On Board Diagnostics) we are able to optimise the parameters or mapping for fuelling, turbo boost pressure and torque limitation. These settings are then programmed back into the ECU.
All of our engine re-mapping procedures are fully reversible. Backups of the original mapping are made and kept of every vehicle we re-map, meaning the vehicle can be returned to original factory standards at any time free of charge. Our experienced mobile engineers can complete the work at a location to suit you.
We operate a mobile service throughout the UK, or if you prefer you can visit one of our tuning centres in Hinckley, Stafford, Bidworth, North Wales and Co. Durham.
